The Pie Pizzeria was one of my favorite pizza joints growing up. My mom would take me to the University Underground location when I was younger and I thought it was such a cool hidden spot! When I approached my high school and college years, my friends and I would have midnight pizza runs to the Underground Pizza joint. A fun quirk to all the Pie locations is that they let you write on their walls with markers. I have my name and a few ex-boyfriends names marked on those walls in several locations, LOL! This place is the epitome of all college hangouts, and for us locals we simply call it THE PIE!
I have a lot of fun memories growing up and eatting pizza from the Pie. So when I became Vegan I was happy to hear they offered vegan pizzas. But as of earlier this year the PIE revamped their vegan menu and came out with a TON of options! I couldn't be happier that the Pie offers Vegan options for their customers who want to be able to enjoy their favorite Pie or an order of Vegan Buffalo Wings without compromising their health, values, or the environment.
The Pie offers a separate Vegan Menu with a variety of locally sourced Vegan toppings as well as Follow Your Heart Vegan Cheese. Their cheese melts, stretches and tastes similar to real cheese! But my favorite item is the Pie's Cheese Pull-A-Parts, they are an absolute must every time we go!
The Pie's pizza dough, pizza sauce and house made Ranch are all Vegan! I love dipping my pizza in ranch dressing and my breadsticks in their pizza marinara sauce! Yum!
What we ordered:
14" VEGAN CHICKEN RANCH PIE:
Hand tossed dough with vegan garlic ranch sauce, shredded seitan chicken, tomatoes, onions, soy bacon, vegan cheddar & vegan mozzarella.
12" VEGAN BBQ BEEF PIE: Hand tossed dough with BBQ sauce, Vegan Ground Beef, Juicy Pineapple, Red Onions, Vegan Cheddar, & Vegan mozzarella topped with cilantro. (We ordered this one to go and ate it for dinner that same night)

VEGAN CHEESE PULL-A-PARTS:
14” Hand tossed dough stuffed with Vegan Cheddar and Vegan Mozzarella, brushed with extra virgin olive oil and seasoned with garlic and oregano. It includes Pizza Sauce for dipping, but we also ordered an extra side of vegan ranch.
VEGAN BUFFALO WINGS: Order of 8 Wings with a side of Vegan Garlic Ranch for dipping. You can choose from Buffalo, Teriyaki, Spicy Thai Peanut, or BBQ flavor. We opted for traditions Buffalo.
VEGAN DINNER SALAD: Iceberg and Romaine lettuce, tomato, carrots, and your choice of vegan Italian dressing or Ranch dressing
Micro-Brewed Root Beer
Root Beer brewed from scratch and served ice cold from a keg! Pours like a fine Ale.
Sean ordered a pitcher of their Trader IPA. They have a nice selection of local beers on tap as well as several domestic and imports in the bottle.
What I love about their vegan options is that I don't feel like I am eating a substitute for pizza or wings. They have done a great job of making the taste and texture just right. The ingredients were fresh, and abundant. The salads and vegan wings were well balanced and complimented the pizza perfectly!
One thing I will mention is I like my pizza to have a thin crust, and I forgot to ask for that. The PIE can easily make your pizza with little or no cheese, thick or thin crust, and they also have a whole dedicated GLUTEN FREE menu! The options are endless!
They PIE has multiple locations throughout Utah, but for today's lunch we visited their Ogden Location.
