This holiday began in honor of the Mexican Army’s unlikely victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, but today “Cinco” is all about celebrating Mexican culture. Invitations, bright bold colors, and festive decor are a few things you'll need to throw a Fiesta Party for Cinco de Mayo..
The big day is May 5th of course, and it is a great opportunity to host a party welcoming in the nicer weather. I was originally inspired to create this party by discovering Basic Invite fiesta invitations for Cinco de Mayo. My favorite part is the adorable floral border around the invitation with appropriate Mexican themed colors.
I’m excited to be partnering with Basic Invite on this post to show you how festive our invitations turned out and to offer you a discount code…!
This table runner was made using textured fabric found at my local fabric store. I cut it into strips for random placement throughout the party and used a sticky no-sew tape to fold the corners. This floral fabric really helped to define our place settings.
When doing your own table, don’t forget texture! Layering different patterns and finishes makes the table feel full, festive and interesting. It’s simple, but makes a huge impact once everything comes together. We added cactus paper cans & tissue paper flowers to compliment the Cinco De Mayo decor. These decor items can be found at Zurchers.
When tequila is your liquor of choice, knowing how to make a margarita is must, and I am proud to say this is my tried and true famous Margarita recipe. This Classic Margarita Recipe is perfectly balanced with tequila, triple sec and lime juice for a crisp and refreshing cocktail. No margarita mix required!
If you have been following my blog, then you know how much I love to decorate and throw parties! I enjoy browsing the isles at Zurchers to help me narrow down my theme or help me with colorful banners and place settings.
How adorable are these mini sombreros, del sol flag garland, and pinatas I purchased from Zurchers!? They had many rows dedicated to all things Cinco De Mayo!
Basic Invite allows you to build your own color theme. Use trendy colors in unlimited combinations to make your card as unique as you are. They also give you Free Peel and Seal Envelopes included with most card orders.
I love being able to view the Instant previews, after designing my invitations, because they allow you to adjust your card until it is just right. …. Perfect example…I accidentally typed Saturday instead of Sunday on my Cinco De Mayo and this feature saved my butt! I am very happy they offer previews and custom samples!
Almost Unlimited Colors - Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail.
Custom Samples - Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so they can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before they ever have to place their final order.
Don’t Forget!!! Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51
As I was browsing their photo graduation party invitations, I was totally jealous! Because when I graduated High School 12 years ago, we didn’t have fun customizable options like this! I tossed in my professional Cheerleadering picture along with my Yearbook photo and called it good. I can only imagine the fun I would have had designing my announcement!
Congratulations to all the 2019 Graduates!
